That was the 2nd National Band Competition held in Victoria Concert Hall and we got a high Silver. To get a Gold, we had to get 80% at least. So we got 79.17%.
And this year, like i've said, the band went to Genting for the 21st Century International Arts Festival for their competition and.......They got GOLD. And it's not just any kind of GOLD. Among all the Gold achievers, they got the 2nd top GOLD AWARD in the whole competition. Awesome or whattttt! :D :D :D
1st was the band from Thailand (87%). And 2nd was ITE Concert Band (82%)?! OMGoodness. Alhamdulilah!
I'm just so proud of everyone who participated and would love to congratulate you guys again. Congratulations! :D From a high silver to gold (although it's a different competition! ;p). I bet every Alumni is proud! :) We should all meet up to celebrate this victory of ours. :)
So, who says ITE Concert Band is not capable of doing a good job??????? Hehe. But remember, it's difficult to achieve Gold. Now that we have it, to maintain is even tougher. Keep that in mind. But i'm sure with hardwork and commitment, we're able to maintain. God willing. :)
So, I heard from my brother that someone in Genting asked/suggested Mr Lim to send the band to Japan next year? If it's true, OMGOODNESS. I am willing to skip a few days of school just to go to Japan!!! ;P Oh yah, my brother is obsessed with one Thai lady he met in Genting. Every band member won't be surprised, I know. Hehe.
